This workshop will be using songs to illustrate how to take the Techniques of Music and Musicianship to Empower You and Your Members to write and deliver speeches that are engaging, fun, and effective. One of the most effective tools in a speaker’s toolbox is a well told story. It has the ability to build your credibility, lower your listeners’ barriers and influence your audience’s beliefs, emotions, and behavior. In this workshop you will gain knowledge regarding where to find stories, how to structure a story, and how to build conflict so your story engages your audience.
Empowering Members Through Impromptu Speaking!
How do you prepare to “wing it”? Is there such a thing? Why is it important to have the skills to speak impromptu? The skills of impromptu speaking empower people to trust their own voice. This doesn’t happen overnight. This workshop aims to build the tools one needs to become confident and empowered to answer, speak, or respond with a little same-day preparation.

Join us at the District Conference in having some laughs and fun while we play some Toastmaster Trivia with Kahoot and perhaps some other fun surprises that will help us empower our members. This is a fun way to break up the conference and I am looking forward to hosting you.
Empowering Members Through Humor!
The desired outcome from this session is for participants to learn new humor skills that can be applied in speeches, presentations, or in their daily lives. Also, participants will learn that humor is a learnable skill, not just some elusive talent possessed by only some people. Participants will learn different respectful approaches to humor. Participants will come away a little more empowered with humor.
Empowering Members Through Poetry!
Come see how poetry can empower members, and we’ll be able to do a poetry slam at the end of this session. So, if you have a poem you just want to share with the world, this is the time to do it. Poetry is a wonderful way to express deep emotions and bring clarity to your experiences of everyday life and cope with some of world issues. We will conduct Haiku for Health, Poetry Salvage, and Poetry Slam.
