District Leadership Committee/ Council Meeting
The District Leadership Committee (DLC) evaluates all candidates for District elected positions and nominates the best candidate(s).
The Annual Meeting of the District Council, which will be held online on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 12 Noon – 3:00 pm (US CDT). Registration closes April 26, 2024 at 5:00 PM CDT.
District Council members hold one or more votes for this event. For those votes to count, you must be registered, a member in good standing and a member of a club in good standing.

- November 1, 2023 District Director appoints DLC Chair
- December 1, 2023 DLC committee formed. Approved by District Director
- December 1, 2023 Formal Call for candidate declarations. (Announced through Newsletter, D106TM website & social media Page)
- February 24, 2024 Deadline for candidates to declare intent to run and seek DLC nomination
- March 9, 2024 Submit DLC report to District Director
- March 16, 2024 Last day for DLC to notify District Director of nominated candidates. (six weeks before District Council meeting)
- March 30, 2024 Last day to publish DLC nominations. (4 weeks before District Council meeting)
- April 20, 2024 Last day to submit Floor nominations to DLC chair.
- April 27, 2024 District Council Meeting starts at Noon. The Candidates Showcase at 12:35 PM CDT and Election starts at 1:50 pm.
- July 15, 2024 Deadline to submit Officer Agreement and Release Statements and District Leader rosters to World Headquarters.3312 5
The chair of the nominating committee reports the committee’s results in writing to the district director no fewer than six weeks before the district’s Annual Business Meeting. The District Director submits the report in writing to all members of the District Council at least four weeks before the Annual Business Meeting. This may be done in the District Newsletter or a separate communication. At the discretion of the District Director, a statement from each nominee outlining their qualifications and abilities to perform the duties of the office may be included with the report. Only candidates nominated by the nominating committee may be included in the report. Floor candidates may declare their intent to run after the District Leadership Committee results have been announced and at least 1 week before the District Council meeting.

Floor Candidates
- All floor candidates are required to declare their intent to run for election at least one (1) week (7 days) before the meeting for any and all positions they are considering running for, regardless of the validity of the DLC report.
- If a position is invalid, all qualified candidates for that position must declare their intent to run as a floor candidate seven (7) days prior to the election. For example, if the required number of candidate(s) is not nominated, that position of the report is invalid. Therefore, any qualified candidate may run from the floor.
- No nominations from the floor will be allowed during the council meeting.
Required Forms
Candidates will need to submit the official Candidate Application Form, the Nomination Form, and the Officer Agreement and Release Form to the District Leadership chair by the time of the interview process planned in January. Download the forms by clicking on the PDF link.
