This event will have mystery; we have no idea who’s telling us a story. This event will have drama; we have no idea who will win. This event will have comedy; the theme is “Pets,” and there is bound to be a ton of laughs. This event will be fun; we’ve got a great Master of Ceremonies (Ray Young). Was it mentioned we are doing this on a proper stage at a comedy club in downtown St. Paul? Well, we are! And it’s all free!

Rules:

The theme is “Pets.” So if you want to tell a story, please bring a personal story about a pet (or pets).

Yes, the subject is vague and has a lot of wiggle room. That’s on purpose.

If you are interested in telling us a story, you will put your name into a hat. The evening’s entertainment will be ten randomly selected speakers (names will be drawn at 7 PM). If you are selected, you will get a drink coupon. Use it to get something to drink before you speak, soda or otherwise.

If selected, you have five minutes to tell your story with a thirty-second grace period. If you go longer than 5 minutes 30 seconds, we will applaud you off the stage. So be on time. You have been warned.

Judging and scoring are public.  Judges will be selected that evening, and will also get a drink coupon. They will publicly put your score on paddles for everyone to see. The winner will take home a Story Spark trophy.
