Business Meeting Results 2022

District Director Kimberlee Redington lead the 2022 business meeting on Saturday, May 14, 2022.
The meeting began with the Canadian and American anthems. You can find the anthems on YouTube by clicking the buttons:

District Alignment

Anna Gaichas, DTM read the District Mission.
Karolyn Hoard, DTM, presented the Credentials Report – a quorum was present.
The Agenda was adopted.
The Minutes of the previous meeting were approved.
Reports were made by the Division Directors, Executive Team, and Trio.

The District Realignment was discussed and a vote took place. The alignment passed. There are now 5 Divisions in District 106.

The District Officers were elected as follows: Division Director Gopu Shreshtha; Program Quality Director Ed Aylward; Club Growth Director Katy Hursh; Division A Director Denise Sundquist; Division B Director Daniel DeJoode; Division C Director Bob Dummer; Division D Director David Rasmussen; Division E Director George Kane. These officers were installed by Immediate Past District Director Michael Carlton.

No new business. 

The District Director adjourned the meeting.

2021-2022 District Speech Contests

District 106 conducted the following speech contests in the 2021-2022 year: Evaluation, Humorous, Table Topics, and International. The Division winners competed at the 2022 Spring Conference May 13 and 14. 

May 13th - Evaluation and Humorous Speech Contests

Evaluation Contest: A test speaker, Kenzie Marthaler, presented a 5-7 minute speech. Each contestant evaluated that speech within 2-3 minutes.

Humorous Speech Contest: Each contestant presented a 5-7 minute speech that left the audience laughing.

Table Topics Contest: The same table topic will be given to each contestant, who will have 1-2 minutes to give an answer.

International Speech Contest: Each contestant will present a 5-7 minute speech that leaves the audience inspired.

Business Meeting Results 2021

The fall 2021 District 106 business meeting was held on Saturday, September 11 via Zoom meeting. A quorum was no met, therefore voting took place following the meeting via email.

The results of the meeting were as follows:

  • The past meeting minutes were approved
  • The District Director and Program Quality Director positions for 2021-2022 were declared by Gopu Shrestha and Edward Aylward respectively
  • The Budget was approved, via email voting (see Ballot results below)
